Janicki Industries is an innovative, family-owned aerospace company located at the foot of the Cascades. We focus on engineering and manufacturing complex projects for companies in the aerospace, defense, and space industries. We are looking for an Assistant Controller to join our growing team.

 

POSITION DESCRIPTION

This position may split time between our Bellingham and Sedro-Woolley, WA offices with occasional travel between sites as needed for business purposes. Relocation assistance may be available for the right candidate. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

·         Assist the Controller in overseeing financial operations of the company

·         Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of financial records, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll

·         Perform detailed reviews of key GL accounts, investigate and correct any issues

·         Develop expertise in assigned functional areas and provide updates to senior management

·         Help manage the day-to-day accounting functions related to general accounting, project accounting, accounts receivable / payable, payroll and fixed assets

·         Support management of the company's financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting

·         Assist with month-end closing and reporting, forecasting and expense management

·         Become proficient in our SAP ERP system

·         Collaborate across the organization on solutions to complex problems

·         Resolve high level financial reporting issues and assists FP&A in variance explanations

·         Actively engage with Operations personnel to improve processes, actively support the management team, serving as the Controller when the Controller is off-site

·         Assist Controller with managing government cost accounting standards (CAS) implementation & support

·         Willingness to learn about and provide support for government contract audits & DCAA compliant accounting system design and implementation

·         Support Manufacturing Operations with cost accounting expertise and

·         Under minimal supervision, responsible for coordinating and reporting various activities as they relate to producing financial information

·         Take on ad hoc financial projects as assigned by the company President and CFO

QUALIFICATIONS

Due to our ITAR and EAR regulations, applicants must be a US Citizen or of Legal Permanent Resident Status as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b (a) (3).

 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

·         BA in Finance or Accounting, or related field, and at least three years of professional experience in accounting, finance, or similar fields, preferably in aerospace or as a government contractor

·         Demonstrated high level of academic and professional accomplishment

·         Must have or be in the process of obtaining a CPA license

·         Extremely organized with strong investigative and follow-up skills as well as attention to details

·         Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously

·         Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing

 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Salary range for this role is between $80,000 - $110,000, plus discretionary bonus, 401(k) matching, vacation, and health benefits. The range provided is Janicki’s estimate of the base compensation for this role. Actual amount offered will be based on job-related and non-discriminatory factors such as experience, location, education, training, skills, and abilities.
