Janicki Industries is an innovative, family-owned aerospace company located at the foot of the Cascades. We are looking for a Finance Manager, Government Compliance to join our growing team.


POSITION DESCRIPTION

This position may split time between our Bellingham and Sedro-Woolley, WA offices with occasional travel between sites as needed for business purposes.

We are hoping to find an exceptional team member to help us become compliant with FAR/DFARS requirements across all business functions.  This role will also take the lead on DCAA/DCMA/customer audits and oversee the implementation and maintenance of an Earned Value Management System (EVMS).  The position reports directly to the CFO and will work collaboratively across all functions of the business as we progress towards government certification of our business systems and CAS compliance.  

An ideal candidate will have a background in government compliance consulting and/or DCAA and DCMA audits, though we will consider a highly talented, ambitious, and versatile team player willing to learn with us.  For someone looking to develop their career, this role will provide a comprehensive exposure across all business functions - contracts and sales, project management and planning, finance, supply chain, and manufacturing operations, as well as opportunities to work directly with the senior management team.

RESPONSIBILITIES 
•    Take ownership of the development, implementation, and maintenance of Janicki’s DFARS business systems requirements such as Accounting, Estimating, Purchasing, and EVMS.
•    Coordinate with external consultants on EVMS program assessment and implementation, then manage resources required for on-going program maintenance and reporting 
•    Work closely with FP&A on annual Labor Rate Models and Incurred Cost Submissions to ensure accuracy and compliance
•    Provide education and guidance to non-finance areas of the business, and to the management team, on government requirements
•    Drives process improvement in support programs such as EVMS and other business systems
•    Collaborates across functions, project teams, and external consultants to deliver solutions to compliance challenges
•    Under general supervision, analyzes and responds to regulatory questions from internal and external sources by interpreting Company policy, Defense Contract Audit Agency and Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) guidance, and applicable governmental regulations
•    Act as key business partner and main point of contact for all DCMA/DCAA/Customer audits
•    Must have ability and willingness to research regulatory compliance matters, including Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) 
•    Develops and maintains strong relationships with internal clients and external customers to insure all their business requirements are met or exceeded
•    Participate and lead projects to improve and train key stakeholders within the business for Government requirements
•    Maintains established policies, procedures, and standard practices as required for compliance 
•    Assesses potential project issues and assists in developing solutions to meet schedule and quality goals and objectives
•    Consistently deliver high quality work, anticipate program needs, and independently drive projects to completion

QUALIFICATIONS
Due to our ITAR and EAR regulations, applicants must be a US Citizen or of Legal Permanent Resident Status as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b (a) (3).

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
•    Experience with SAP ERP
•    Strong team player able to initiate and complete tasks with minimal supervision
•    Excellent communicator 
•    Good interpersonal skills to effectively interface with all levels of the organization
•    Strong knowledge of DFAR and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS), or willingness to develop
•    Higher level analytical thinking and reasoning skills
•    Excellent time management and organizational skills 
•    Experience in Aerospace and Defense or related manufacturing industry
•    Experience with DCAA/DCMA or with a government prime- or sub-contractor
•    Understanding of overhead rates and Forward Pricing
•    Solid Excel skills including formulas (vlookup, index match, sumifs etc.) and pivot tables

EDUCATION 
•    BA in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or other technical field, and at least three years of professional experience, preferably in aerospace or as a government contractor

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Salary range for this role is between $90,000 - $130,000, plus discretionary bonus, 401(k) matching, vacation, and health benefits. Employees can also receive additional pay for off-shifts. The range provided is Janicki’s estimate of the base compensation for this role. Actual amount offered will be based on job-related and non-discriminatory factors such as experience, location, education, training, skills, and abilities.
